It is my firm belief that there are more people on social media platforms, “capping.” Which is the new slang for “lying.” However, lying and capping aren’t the same to be specific. When someone says they didn’t see your message but they did, that’s a lie. When a group of friends gets together, dress down, and take pictures at the gym pretending to work out. Now, that’s capping. It’s the thin line between reality and clout chasing.
Whenever you have to adjust anything “for the gram” or “for the vlog” that’s the epitome of capping. Once in a while, you’ll hear someone say, “I’m being serious right now, no cap.” This is my belief, that 20% of content creators are getting paid while 70% are capping. The last to 10% is for those who have experienced a little success but it’s not quite consistent.
I recently hooked up with this girl I met on Hinge and I have to say that's the last time I’m ever using dating apps again. This girl was ALL CAP. She flew in from New Jersey (I didn’t finance anything but her stay was free) so we could meet. I’m the type of person who completely forgets things because it’s a real problem I struggle with. I remember texting her that night and I was confused because we were talking as if we were at the same timezone.
